Windows VPS · Light plan
WordPress and PHP, on your own server
PHP and MySQL are pre-installed and the built-in Install-WordPress command has a site live in about a minute, on a server where nobody else's site can slow yours down.
PHP on Windows, done properly
PHP runs under IIS on every Infosaic VPS, with MySQL beside it, so WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Laravel and the rest of the PHP world install and run as they would anywhere. Install-WordPress, built into every VPS, creates the IIS site and the MySQL database, downloads WordPress, writes its configuration and runs the setup with the title and administrator you give it: about a minute from command to dashboard. Joomla, Drupal and phpMyAdmin have installers of their own on the server; anything else installs the ordinary way, and support helps the first time if you like.
What you get that shared hosting does not
- Your own memory and cores: a plugin that misbehaves slows your site, not a neighbor's, and vice versa.
- Your own PHP settings and version, changed when you need them.
- A dedicated IP for the site and its mail.
- Room for the .NET application beside it, on the same server, when the business needs one.
- Site transfer included: we move the WordPress site, its database and its uploads.
Light is the plan for this
Two gigabytes and two virtual cores carry one or two WordPress sites with ordinary traffic comfortably. Several sites, or a busy one, belong on Basic.
The plan for this: Light
2 GB of memory, 2 virtual cores, 50 GB system drive and 50 GB data drive, for $19.99 a month, on a Dell Hyper-V host with full isolation. The other three plans are the same server with more or less memory and processing power.
Common questions
Does WordPress run well on Windows?
Yes. PHP under IIS with MySQL is a standard, supported configuration, and the built-in installer has WordPress running in about a minute. Themes and plugins work as they do on any host.
Can I change the PHP version?
Yes. You are the administrator; install the version you need alongside the one provided, or ask support to set it up under IIS.
Will you move my WordPress site?
Yes. Files, database, uploads and DNS, as part of the price.
Can I run a .NET site on the same server?
Yes. ASP.NET and PHP are both configured under IIS, so a WordPress site and a .NET application can share the server.
