Virtual desktops (VDI, DaaS) and servers from Infosaic Cloud, since 2001

Windows VPS

Configured before you sign in

Windows Server 2025 with IIS, PHP, ASP.NET, SQL Server Express and MySQL installed and working. The server is ready for a site the moment the access email arrives.

What is on the server

  • Windows Server 2025, licensed and activated, kept updated by us.
  • IIS, the Windows web server, configured for multiple sites.
  • ASP.NET, current releases, for .NET web applications and APIs.
  • PHP, for WordPress and the rest of the PHP world, running under IIS.
  • SQL Server Express, installed and ready for databases up to its size limit.
  • MySQL, for PHP applications and anything else that expects it.
  • Thirteen built-in installers, run from the server desktop: a new site, WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, MediaWiki, PrestaShop, phpMyAdmin, Umbraco and DNN, plus a free SSL certificate, an FTP account, a site backup and a clean site removal. About a minute each.
  • Mail services for your domains: mailboxes with POP3, IMAP and webmail.

Built-in installers

Every VPS carries a set of installers on the server itself. Connect over Remote Desktop, open the Infosaic Installers icon on the desktop, pick what you want and answer two or three questions - the host name, a site title, an administrator email - and about a minute later it is running. The same installers are available as PowerShell commands for anyone who prefers a prompt. Each one leaves a standard IIS site behind that you can change in IIS Manager like any other, and none of them depends on a control panel being connected to the server.

The site and the plumbing

  • New-Site: an IIS site with its own application pool, folder on the data drive, log folder and, if you ask, a MySQL or SQL Server database with its own user. Everything else builds on this.
  • Add-Ssl: a free Let's Encrypt certificate for a site, the https binding, and a scheduled renewal so it never expires.
  • Add-FtpUser: an FTP account confined to one site's folder, for uploading with FileZilla or any other client.
  • Backup-Site: the site's files and its database dumped to a dated zip on the data drive.
  • Remove-Site: the site, its application pool, folder, database and FTP account taken down cleanly.

PHP applications

  • Install-WordPress: the current WordPress with its MySQL database, configuration, pretty permalinks and administrator account.
  • Install-Joomla: Joomla 5 through its own unattended installer.
  • Install-Drupal: Drupal through Composer and Drush, ready to sign in.
  • Install-MediaWiki: a wiki, installed and configured.
  • Install-PrestaShop: an online shop with its database, ready for products.
  • Install-PhpMyAdmin: browser-based MySQL management under any PHP site, password-protected.

ASP.NET applications

  • Install-Umbraco: the leading .NET content management system, with a SQL Server database.
  • Install-DNN: DNN (DotNetNuke) through its unattended install file, with a SQL Server database.

The set replaces the application catalog that used to come with Microsoft's Web Platform Installer, which Microsoft retired in 2022. Anything else installs the ordinary way, and support helps the first time if you like.

Why it is done this way

A bare Windows Server takes an afternoon to turn into a web server, and the afternoon is the same for everyone: install the web role, add the runtimes, install the database engines, open the right ports, set the permissions. We do it once, properly, on every VPS, so the time between signing up and publishing a site is the time it takes to read the email.

Nothing about it locks you in. It is a standard Windows Server with standard software on it, and you are the administrator. Remove what you do not need, add what you do.

What you can add

Anything you hold a license for. A full SQL Server edition instead of Express. A different PHP version. Node.js, Python, Java. A mail server of your own. A Windows service, a scheduled task, an application that runs around the clock. The built-in installers cover the common cases; everything else installs over Remote Desktop, the ordinary way.

What we keep doing

Windows updates, database engine updates, permissions when a site needs them, security hardening, and help when an installation does not go to plan. Ongoing support is included on every plan, where other providers bill it by the hour.

Common questions

Which version of Windows Server is it?

Windows Server 2025, licensed and activated, with the license inside the monthly price.

Can I choose a different PHP version?

Yes. You are the administrator and can install any version alongside or instead of the one provided; support can help set it up under IIS.

Is SQL Server Express enough?

For most small-business databases, yes. Its limits are Microsoft's: database size and memory use are capped. When you outgrow them, install a licensed edition on the same server.

Can I remove things I do not need?

Yes. It is your server. Remove MySQL if you only use SQL Server, or PHP if everything is .NET.

Is Linux available?

The VPS plans on this page are Windows Server 2025. Ask support if you need something else.
