Virtual desktops (VDI, DaaS) and servers from Infosaic Cloud, since 2001

Virtual desktops

It is your machine, with the keys

Full administrator rights on every plan. No approved-software list, no ticket to unlock anything, no locked-down appliance behavior.

What you can do

The practical test is simple: anything you could do as an administrator on a Windows PC in your office, you can do on an Infosaic virtual desktop.

  • Install any Windows program you hold a license for.
  • Add printers, scanners and their drivers.
  • Change any Windows setting, including the ones several dialogs deep.
  • Create and schedule tasks that run whether or not you are signed in.
  • Edit the registry when a piece of software needs it.
  • Add and manage local user accounts on the desktop.
  • Install and configure your own antivirus if you would rather use a particular one.

None of that requires a support ticket, an approval, or a note from us. There is no list of permitted applications.

Where the line sits

You look after the desktop. We look after the thing it runs on: the host, the storage, the network, the platform patching, and the physical security of the building it all sits in.

That division is why administrator rights are safe to hand over. Nothing you can do inside the desktop reaches the host or another customer, so there is no reason for us to hold the keys to your own machine.

Windows updates

The desktop ships with a pre-activated Windows 11 license and Windows Update enabled. Because you are the administrator, you control when updates install and when the machine restarts - useful if you have a long-running job you would rather not have interrupted.

If you break something

It happens, and it is one of the reasons support is included on every plan rather than sold as a tier. Support is available around the clock and covers the platform under the desktop, not just the desktop itself.

The four plans

Four packages of the same fast-performing Windows 11 computer, from a light desk for browsing and email to a workstation-class machine. Administrator rights and round-the-clock support on all of them.

Common questions

Do all four plans include administrator rights?

Yes. Every plan is a full Windows 11 desktop with full administrator rights. The plans differ in memory, virtual cores and storage, nothing else.

Can I install my own antivirus?

Yes. You have administrator rights, so you can install and configure whichever security software you prefer.

Can I join the desktop to my company domain?

Talk to us before you sign up. It depends on how your domain is reachable and it is worth getting the details right first rather than discovering a limitation afterwards.

Is there an approved-software list?

No. If you hold a license for a Windows program, you can install it.
